Lina and Mourad met at AYF Junior Seminar in 2018, where they connected instantly. On the last night of the weekend, they were fatefully matched up for a shift of Night Watch: in between wrangling rogue campers, they stayed up talking until sunrise.

After a summer of texting, the pair was reunited at yet another AYF event – this time, AYF Olympics in Philadelphia. They hung out all weekend and snagged this selfie with Harout Pamboukjian. Clearly, this couple was destined for greatness.

A few weeks after Olympics, Mourad came to visit Lina at school in New York City for the first time! The couple had their first official date at "Hot n Juicy Crawfish".

Many more visits to New York ensued, during which Lina and Mourad got closer and closer while exploring the city together.

In the summer of 2019, Lina and Mourad had the opportunity to volunteer together at Camp Javakhk. They made lifelong memories across Georgia and Armenia, alongside some of their best friends!

Mourad and the entire Tossounian family secretly traveled from Michigan to New York for the proposal: with the whole crew hiding inside the house, Mourad surprised Lina as she arrived home from work. He popped the question in the pouring rain, surrounded by roses and candlelight – needless to say, Lina said YES.
